Quick Quotes

A quick quote is a very simplified version of a rating.

If you must know immediately how much a shipment will cost, you can run a quick quote.

  1. In the sidebar, select Corsair TMS > Quick Quote.

  2. In the Origin section, enter an address. You can enter the address manually, or select Address Book and select it there.

    Optional: Select Add Accessorial to add one or more accessorials.

  3. In the Destination section, enter an address. You can enter the address manually, or select Address Book and select it there.

    Optional: Select Add Accessorial to add one or more accessorials.

  4. In the Line Items section, enter the required details about the shipment. See the "Line Items Field Descriptions" below for more information about the line items fields.

    Note

    Select Add Line Item to add more line items.

  5. Optional: In the Accessorials section, select the drop-down arrow and select an option.

    Note

    Select Add Accessorial to add more accessorials.

  6. Select Get Quote $. The rate results display in the Rates section.

  7. In the Rates section, select select_icon.png next to a rate result to view more details about it.

Handling

The number of freight objects the carrier is shipping, such as pallets.

Class

The National Motor Freight Traffic Association (NMFTA) organizes freight into 18 separate classes, numbered 50 to 500.

Note

These classes apply only to LTL shipments.

NMFC Number

The National Motor Freight Classification number is determined according to the NMFTA class guidelines.

Turnable

If Yes, Corsair assumes items will be loaded onto the truck in a way that optimizes for linear feet.

If No, Corsair uses the length as-is when calculating linear feet.

Stackable

Can the freight be stacked? Yes or No

Hazardous

Is the freight capable of posing a significant risk to health, safety, or property as to require special attention when transported? Yes or No

Refrigerated

If Yes, the freight requires refrigeration.

  • Minimum Temperature - The minimum temperature for the freight.

  • Maximum Temperature - The maximum temperature for the freight.

  • Temperature Unit - Either Celsius or fahrenheit.
